NEW YORK GETS ITS CLUB BACK

30 years after waving goodbye at Giants Stadium, Pelé announced on August 1, 2010 that The New York Cosmos are coming back.

The return of the biggest soccer club in US history involves a Cosmos Academy – in NYC and LA-to develop our next generation of soccer stars.

Copa NYC, a World Cup-style grassroots tournament that engages local communities to represent their countries of origin.

And New York’s schoolchildren will be provided with the access and equipment to play soccer more often, and more easily.

The New York Cosmos will be reaching those who have big dreams and the commitment to match – while building the platform to one day put the club in the MLS and competing for the championship.
