NEW YORK (May 6, 2015) – The New York Cosmos announced a wide-ranging strategic soccer training partnership with the largest indoor sports facility in Westchester County, the House of Sports.

In the agreement, the Cosmos Training and Development Program (TDP) will undertake all soccer training activities at the House of Sports and offer a wide range of classes, clinics and camps for youth soccer players of all ages and abilities.

In addition to after-school, age and position specific classes and camps, the New York Cosmos will also run a full and part-time elite development program. Athletes that would like to devote themselves to high-level training, will now have the opportunity to attend a full-time program where they can attend school at the House of Sports and train 3-5 hours per day.

“The House of Sports is one of the leading athletic training centers in the country. By combining their world-class facility with our soccer training expertise, we are now able to offer area athletes a training experience that is second to none” said John Fitzgerald, Director of Training and Development Programs at the New York Cosmos. “We are particularly excited to announce our elite training programs which will offer serious players the best training option in the region.”

For players that are not ready for that level of commitment, the Cosmos will offer an intensive part-time, all year program that will meet weekly at the House of Sports.  Both programs are designed to serve as an intensive, supplemental training program in addition to players club commitments.

New York Cosmos instructor Charley Marshall has assumed the position of Training Coordinator at the House of Sports and will oversee all day-to-day soccer operations at the House of Sports.

“Entering into a training partnership with the New York Cosmos ensures that our athletes have access to leading curriculums and coaches” said Frank Lombardy, Vice President of Programming at the House of Sports. “Charley Marshall is an amazing resource who has a proven track record in helping youth soccer players dramatically improve their on-field skills.”

This partnership also allows the Cosmos an opportunity to vastly expand their growing soccer training network into the Westchester area.
