From June 22-24 the New York Cosmos Training and Development Program and Rivertowns United Football Club ran their second annual New York Cosmos Make-A-Wish Soccer Camp. Over 120 people from the surrounding community came out to Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. to be part of the camp.

Due to generous donations and the community’s support, the camp raised over $15,000. This money will go a long way in granting wishes and putting smiles on the faces of children in unfortunate situations. It will allow wishes for not only one, but two children to come true.

The three-day camp was a great time for all involved, from the athletes to the coaches. Thunderstorms threatened the second day of camp, but helpful friends at House of Sports were glad to accommodate participants indoors.

The camp ended on Wednesday with a barbecue and raffle; many attendees left with great prizes.

“Once again, thank you to all the people that contributed their time to make this event possible. Thank you to our sponsors: Rivertowns United, AYSO, Mercy College, Celtic Corner, and JP Doyle’s for all their support. We hope to see you all out there next year for the third annual New York Cosmos Make-A-Wish Soccer Camp, and we look forward to granting more wishes!”
