NEW YORK (Oct. 23, 2015) – The North American Soccer League (NASL), San Antonio Scorpions, and New York Cosmos have decided to move this weekend’s match – originally scheduled for Saturday night - to Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT (2 p.m. ET) due to the severe weather that is predicted to hit the San Antonio area within the next 24 hours. All season and individual tickets purchased for the game will be valid for the Sunday kickoff at Toyota Field.

"Our number one concern is for the safety and comfort of our fans,” said Scorpions president & general manager Howard Cornfield. “Given the severity of the forecast – and particularly the likelihood of flooding – we felt this was the most prudent action to take. I’d like to personally thank Erik Stover and the New York Cosmos for their shared concern for the safety of our fans and for their willingness to make last minute changes to their travel schedule.”

The change comes due to the potential effects of Hurricane Patricia, a category 5 storm that is passing through Mexico and moving towards South Texas.

Sunday’s match can be seen live on ESPN3 and ONE World Sports in the U.S. and on NASL.com in Canada. Buffalo Wild Wings in Westbury, Long Island (737 Merrick Avenue) will have TVs playing the match.
