Following consecutive narrow defeats on the road, the New York Cosmos returned to Hofstra's Shuart Stadium on May 1 for a date with the first-place Carolina RailHawks and a shot at the NASL Spring Season title hanging in the balance.

Cracking the Cosmos starting lineup for the first time, Yohandry Orozco didn't shy away from what was his side's most crucial fixture of the young season. The 25-year-old stretched the field and the RailHawks defense all evening, providing excellent service from the left wing and putting his skill set on full display with a thumping effort inside the 18-yard box seconds before halftime.

Orozco's first goal in New York would be the difference on Sunday night. The Cosmos dealt Carolina its first loss of the season, and Orozco was recognized as Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match by the media.

Members of the media will cast their votes to determine the Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match at every Cosmos home game. At each home match, the winner will receive an Emirates Airbus A380 model airplane with an engraved plaque recognizing the player’s achievement.

The Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match award will culminate in a season-ending Emirates Cosmos Player of the Year award. The recipient of the Emirates Cosmos Player of the Year award will receive two round trip tickets on Emirates from New York (JFK) to Dubai (DXB) to celebrate a triumphant season.
