Today the Philadelphia Union announced the sale of midfielder Michael Lahoud's contract rights to Miami FC. Lahoud, 29, joined the New York Cosmos on loan from the Union in January 2016. He logged seven starts and 630 minutes on the field with New York during the NASL Spring Season.

"We have been informed that the Philadelphia Union have sold the contract rights to Michael Lahoud to Miami FC,” said Cosmos Chief Operating Officer Erik Stover. “Michael was on loan to us for the 2016 season, but his rights always remained with Philadelphia. We are sorry to see him go. He was a great player and teammate for our club. We wish him best of luck on his new venture.”

"We have a lot of depth on this team and we expect the other players to step up,” said New York Cosmos Head Coach and Sporting Director Giovanni Savarese. “The competition for starting positions in the central midfield will continue to be strong."

Two games remain in the Cosmos' Spring Season, including a home match against expansion side Rayo OKC this Saturday, May 28 at 7 p.m. ET. The team is presently in Las Vegas for a midweek friendly against La Liga's SD Eibar, which kicks off from Sam Boyd Stadium at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 25.
