THE STAKES

The Cosmos (3-1-2 Fall, 9-1-6 Overall) could use a signature home performance to keep pace in the race for the NASL Fall Season title. Meanwhile, Puerto Rico FC (1-2-2) will be seeking its first road win exactly one week after its first home win.

MATCHUP HISTORY

The NASL’s newest club is paying its first visit to Shuart Stadium at Hofstra University. Fresh off the first win in club history—a 1-0 triumph over Rayo OKC at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in Bayamón—Puerto Rico FC can claim another milestone by snatching a road win Saturday night against the Cosmos.

NOTES

Shuart Streak: New York is a perfect 7-0-0 at home this season. The Cosmos defense has allowed only two goals in those seven fixtures, registering five shutouts.

July Finale: This will be the seventh and final match of Cosmos’ busiest month of the NASL Season. They’re 3-1-2 (W-D-L) through the first six games.

Hold on, We’re Going Home: After a challenging three-game road trip, the Cosmos are back home for three consecutive weekend home matches. Rayo OKC and the Tampa Bay Rowdies visit New York on August 7 and August 13, respectively.
