For the second time this month, Lucky Mkosana earned Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match honors from the media. The Zimbabwean forward left his mark on all three Cosmos goals against Puerto Rico FC, beginning in the 16th minute when his probing cross from the left sideline forced an own goal from Cristiano Dias.

Deep into the second half Mkosana would influence two more scores. He cut back on defender Kyle Culbertson in the 84th minute, making space to deliver another cross into the heart of the 18-yard box. Cosmos midfielder Juan Arango came charging forward to finish with his head past Puerto Rico goalkeeper David Meves.

Arango and Mkosana would link up again two minutes into second-half stoppage time. This time the Venezuelan international picked out Mkosana behind the defense with a through ball. Meves came off his line and Mkosana sized him up before swerving past the diving goalkeeper, jogging his goal into the net uncontested.

The Cosmos notched their 10th straight regular season home win, eclipsing the NASL Modern Era record.

Members of the media will cast their votes to determine the Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match at every Cosmos home game. At each home match, the winner will receive an Emirates Airbus A380 model airplane with an engraved plaque recognizing the player’s achievement.

The Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match award will culminate in a season-ending Emirates Cosmos Player of the Year award. The recipient of the Emirates Cosmos Player of the Year award will receive two round trip tickets on Emirates from New York (JFK) to Dubai (DXB) to celebrate a triumphant season.
