NEW YORK (September 9, 2016) – The New York Cosmos announced today the signing of midfielder Andrea Mancini. As per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

“Andrea is a young player with good experience,” said Cosmos Head Coach Giovanni Savarese. “He has shown great dedication in training and he will add depth to the team as we push for a strong finish to the season.”

Mancini, 24, is a product of the Inter Milan and Manchester City academies. He last suited up for Major League Soccer’s D.C. United in their Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match, replacing Miguel Aguilar in the 66th minute in United’s penalty-shootout loss to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. He has played professionally in England, Spain and Hungary and is the son of former Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini.

“I’ve been training with the team for quite a few weeks and I really enjoy the coaching style and atmosphere,” commented Mancini. “I’m focused on helping the team at this important time in the season,” he added.

The Cosmos face Minnesota United on Saturday, September 10 at Hofstra’s Shuart Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. For tickets, call 855-71-COSMOS or visit nycosmos.com/tickets.
