In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the New York Cosmos are set to host Breast Cancer Awareness Night this Sunday, October 2 at Hofstra’s Shuart Stadium during their matchup with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

The club has partnered with Kicks for Cancer, a Long Island-based charity, and has set a goal of $5,000 in funds raised to benefit cancer research. A $20 sideline ticket to the match includes a $5 donation to Kicks for Cancer. Join the cause by calling 855-71-COSMOS.

Kicks for Cancer began in 2008 to support Hauppauge High School soccer player Courtney Tomkin, who passed away while bravely battling brain cancer. Funds raised by the charity are split amongst various philanthropic organizations, including the American Cancer Society and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

There will also be a pregame fundraiser benefitting Kicks for Cancer. The Inaugural Main Street Radiology Kicking It For Cancer Round Robin Fundraiser will take place at Shuart Stadium in the hours leading up to the match. U-10 girls teams will have the opportunity play small-sided games on the Cosmos home pitch. The registration deadline is 12 p.m. ET this Wednesday, September 28. Contact Ariel Greenberg at (516) 874-2172 to sign up.

The Cosmos kick off against the Strikers on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET. It is the first of their final two home matches of the regular season. For more ticket options, visit nycosmos.com/tickets.
