 NEW YORK COSMOS

#1 Jimmy Maurer | Goalkeeper

The stalwart New York Cosmos goalkeeper has a propensity to make the dramatic save. He did so again in Wednesday night’s 2-0 win on the road against the RailHawks, denying Nazmi Albadawi in the 28th minute. Maurer is looking to add to his 12 shutouts in 23 games played this season. The Georgia native holds an impressive 0.83 goals against average (GAA), yet again putting him in contention to win this year’s NASL Golden Glove. The Cosmos have allowed only six goals in 14 matches at Shuart Stadium this year.

#18 Juan Arango | Midfielder

The Venezuelan midfielder has been a star player to look out for in green and white all year. Arango rested for the Cosmos’ midweek match against Carolina, just his second game missed this NASL Season. The former Borussia Mönchengladbach man is an all-around offensive threat, cracking the league’s top 10 in goals (11; 3rd place), assists (4; 8th) and chances created (35; 7th).

#77 Lucky Mkosana | Forward

Mkosana, who celebrated his 29th birthday on Friday, hasn’t always been a starter in Head Coach Giovanni Savarese’s side, but continues to be an impact player no matter the role. The Zimbabwean forward’s high work hate has led to four goals, three assists and 16 chances created in 23 appearances this season. Meanwhile, the Strikers have allowed 33 goals in 26 matches, third most in the league. They’ve rushed out to early leads before conceding multiple goals in each of their last two games.

 FORT LAUDERDALE STRIKERS

#15 Amauri | Forward

Signed by the Strikers in early August, Amauri is already a fan favorite and a well-known name in the soccer world. He is a former Serie A star, playing with major clubs such as Juventus and Palermo.  Be on the lookout for the big Italian striker, who has four goals in eight appearances, to test the Cosmos center back pairing.

#9 Ramón Nuñez | Midfielder

The 30-year-old Honduran international signed with the Strikers in April of 2016. Since his signing he has made an impact with the team as a distributor, setting up his teammates with 36 chances created and four assists.

#29 Maicon Santos | Forward

Veteran striker Maicon Santos was signed in late 2015, bringing along with him a wealth of experience from playing all around the world. The 31-year-old has scored seven times in 16 starts this season.
