NEW YORK (October 6, 2016) – The New York Cosmos announced today a partnership with Real Madrid Graduate School - Universidad Europea. As part of the agreement the Cosmos players and staff will have the opportunity to pursue post graduate courses with the world renowned school. Additionally, the Cosmos will offer internships for select students on the Sports Management MBA program in 2016.

“We are delighted to announce this partnership with Real Madrid Graduate School - Universidad Europea,” said Cosmos Chief Operating Officer Erik Stover. “The sports industry is an exciting one, but also unique in the way it operates. We are pleased to be part of this program and look forward to offering a unique experience to interns who will be able to learn more about the workings of a professional sports team in the U.S.”

The students will gain experience in a number of departments at the Cosmos, including marketing, communications, social media, ticketing, community engagement, sponsorship, and game day operations.

“Both Andrés Flores and I jumped at the chance to complete an online MBA in Sports Marketing,” said New York Cosmos forward, Lucky Mkosana. “Not only is this a great course, allowing us to grow our expertise in other areas, but it is with one of the best schools in Europe, linked to one of the biggest sports teams in the world.”

Real Madrid Graduate School is an education partnership between the Real Madrid C.F. soccer team and Universidad Europea de Madrid. The School was launched in 2006 to address the growing role of sport in global economies, and the need for professionals with sports-focused expertise in business, management, finance and communication.

“At Real Madrid Graduate School we are delighted to partner with such an iconic club as the New York Cosmos,” said Real Madrid Graduate School Business Development Director Nuno Alves.  “The School was created with a strong international drive and with the goal of providing a practical education to our students and this partnership will allow them to learn from a historical club in one of the fastest growing football leagues in the world”.
