THE STAKES

Including their game against Jacksonville, the Cosmos have just three regular season fixtures left. They’ll host Miami FC for the first time on Oct. 22, and then travel to NSC Stadium for a meeting with Minnesota United on Oct. 29. A strong run to close out the campaign would help them clinch home field advantage throughout The Championship, the NASL's four-team postseason tournament.

MATCHUP HISTORY

Prior to Saturday night’s encounter, New York and Jacksonville have matched up twice in 2016, with the Cosmos winning both games by a combined score of 5-0. This will be the lone meeting of the regular season in Jacksonville, where the Armada FC handed the Cosmos their first defeat of the season back in 2015.

NOTES

Consistency: The Cosmos have lost only once in their last 13 games, posting an 8-4-1 (W-D-L) record. That run has them on top of the NASL’s Fall Season and Combined Season Standings.

Aran-Golden Boot: Juan Arango is the highest-scoring midfielder in the NASL. His 12 goals put him third in the race for the league’s Golden Boot award, trailing strikers Christian Ramirez and Éamon Zayed. He leads the league in shot attempts (69) and leads the Cosmos in chances created (39).

Advantage Cosmos: Six points separate the Cosmos from FC Edmonton at the top of the Combined Season Standings, a moderate margin. But in the event of a tie on points, New York holds the distinct edge in the first tiebreaker of goal differential, boasting a +23 differential compared the Eddies’ +6.
