Published May 17, 2017
The NASL Team of the Week featured three Cosmos players after their 4-3 victory at home against Puerto Rico FC. Emmanuel Ledesma earned his second mention of the season, while Ryan Richter and Walter Restrepo were each named to the Team of the Week for the first time this season.

Ledesma had two assists and created five chances against Puerto Rico FC last Sunday. The Argentine midfielder set up the Cosmos first goal with a cross to Andrés Flores, which helped New York get back into the game after being down by two goals in the early stages of the match. Minutes later, Ledesma’s excellent corner kick to Juan Guerra leveled the match and gave the team the spark it needed just before halftime.

After the break, the Cosmos took the lead through Richter’s 50th minute header from close range. The defender had a passing accuracy of 84% and a total of four shots against PRFC.

Restrepo hit the final goal for the Cosmos in the 58th minute, a right footed shot to the top right corner after an impressive solo run. The midfielder was excellent distributing the ball around the field with a passing accuracy of 90%.

The Cosmos next NASL match will take place at MCU Park on May 25th at 7:00 p.m against the San Francisco Deltas.
