The New York Cosmos B hosted the Brooklyn Italians SC on Sunday afternoon at Rocco B. Commisso Stadium. This was the third match of the season for the Cosmos B, entering the match with a draw and a loss.

The Brooklyn Italians struck first as the ball was crossed from the left side of the box, falling to the feet of striker Rasmus Hansen who gave his side the lead in the 18th minute.

Minutes later, Cosmos B pushed up the field looking to respond. Christian Thierjung hit a low driven shot to the center of the goal, however goalkeeper Mike Bernardi was able to make the save.

The home side continued to press up the field, looking for an equalizer. Shortly before halftime, Bljedi Bardic went through the middle of the box and chipped the ball past the goalkeeper, levelling the match. The first half finished 1-1, as the two teams went to the locker room.

Second half action resumed, as the Brooklyn Italians continued to challenge the Cosmos B defense. Defender Rhys Williams made a hard challenge inside the box, leading to the referee's decision to point to the penalty spot. Striker Harry Cooksley converted the penalty, providing the visitors the lead.

Despite being down a goal, the Cosmos B continued to apply pressure on Brooklyn Italians' defense. Mohammed Rashid went one-on-one in the 78th minute against goalkeeper Bernardi, who made an excellent save to keep his side on top. Minutes later, Williams cracked a shot from outside the box that was saved again by the goalie.

The match finished with the Brooklyn Italians SC winning 2-1 on the road. Cosmos B return to action on Thursday, May 25 at 7:30 PM against TSF FC at Rocco B. Commisso Stadium.
