Cosmos B earn road victory against Seacoast United

Published Jun 3, 2017

The Cosmos B traveled to Seacoast United Phantoms and looked to improve upon last weekend's 2-1 victory against TSF FC.

The team entered the match set to take three points on the road and had their first opportunity in the 8th minute as Bledi Bardic provided the Cosmos B first shot of the day. A minute later, Lucas Coutinho produced an excellent through ball into the box and Bardic did the rest to beat the goalkeeper, giving his side the lead.

The visitors continued to apply pressure on the Phantoms defense, as Rhys Williams shot the ball in the 37th minute but was deflected for a corner. The team felt confident as they went into the break ahead 1-0.

The second half resumed the same way the Cosmos B ended the half, both aggressive and focused on more goals. Williams had another chance as he hit a powerful shot in the 50th minute, but was denied this time by the goalkeeper. The Cosmos B were relentless in the final third, as Mohammed Rashid slid the ball to the far right corner to extend the lead in the 78th minute. Just minutes later, Najera hit a perfect shot, providing the exclamation point for the visitors.

The match finished 3-0, after a stellar performance on the road. This was the team's second victory of the season, winning back-to-back. The Cosmos B will return to action tomorrow at 4:00 PM as they take on Greater Lowell NPSL FC at Tyngsboro High School.
