The New York Cosmos announced today that it has mutually part ways with midfielder, Kalif Alhassan.

“We would like to thank Kalif for his time with the Cosmos,” said NY Cosmos Head Coach and Sporting Director, Giovanni Savarese. “We wish him all the best moving forward.”

Alhassan leaves the Cosmos after featuring five contests with New York during the 2017 NASL Spring Season and scoring a valuable goal against North Carolina FC last month, which eventually helped the Cosmos tie the match 2-2.

Prior to joining the Cosmos, the Ghanaian midfielder played for the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Minnesota United. Alhassan also played five MLS seasons with the Portland Timbers.

“I would like to thank Rocco B. Commisso, Gio [Savarese] and the coaching staff and players for their support during my time in New York,” said Alhassan. “I wish everyone well for the rest of the season.”

The Cosmos will return to MCU Park to open the 2017 Fall Season against Miami FC on Saturday, July 29 at 7:00 pm. Tickets for this match are on sale now. For more information, click here.
