New York Cosmos midfielders, Emmanuel Ledesma and Javi Márquez, were named to the NASL Team of the Week for Week 11 of the 2017 Fall Season.

Both players played a pivotal role in Saturday night’s 2-2 road draw against Indy Eleven at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.

New York’s first goal came when Márquez took a long range shot and Indy goalkeeper, Jon Busch, was able to make the save. But the keeper couldn’t control the rebound and Ledesma ran in to score on the follow-up attempt, evening the score at 1-1 before the half.

In the second half, the duo again came together for an equalizer. Ledesma found Márquez open inside the box. With room to shoot, Márquez beat Busch with a low shot with his left foot to even the score at 2-2, which would be the eventual final score.

The pair of Cosmos combined to take 11 total shots, with six hitting the target and two finding the net as New York earned a critical road point.

Ledesma earned his fifth Team of the Week award for the season while Marquez received his sixth.

The Cosmos return home on Saturday, October 14 to battle FC Edmonton at 7:00 p.m. To purchase tickets, click here.
