New York Cosmos B earned its place in the Northeast Region Final after knocking FC Frederick out of the NPSL playoffs. Forward Zaire Bartley scored in each half to pace New York to a 2-0 win in the region semifinals at Hofstra Soccer Stadium on Wednesday night.

After a first half that appeared to be scoreless between the teams, Bartley was able to find the breakthrough just before the stroke of halftime. After Darwin Espinal slid a pass to Bartley, the forward fired his shot to the far post and into the net from inside the 18-yard box.

Bartley again would rise to the occasion. The Bronx native, after an exchange with captain Danny Szetela, scored his second of the night from a similar range to his first to seal the 2-0 win. It was Bartley's fourth goal in three games. The forward also tallied the tying goal and in the penalty shootout against the Brooklyn Italians in the previous playoff match.

Cosmos B now faces off with Keystone Conference Champions FC Motown in the Northeast Region Final. New York also holds the top seed and home-field advantage throughout the rest of the the playoffs, should the team continue to advance, after the Laredo Heat's loss in the South Region Semifinals. Kickoff for the Northeast Region title game will be at 7:30 p.m. at Commisso Stadium.
