ENJOY YOUR VISIT TO COSMOS GAMES AT
HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY’S SHUART STADIUM

The Cosmos want all of our supporters to enjoy their visit to a game at Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium. To make sure you have a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience, we have set forth the following guidelines and supplied this information to all patrons.  We encourage every one of our guests to arrive at Hofstra and enter the stadium as early as possible to avoid delays.  If you haven’t visited Shuart Stadium for a Cosmos game previously, please give yourself extra travel time.

NEW YORK COSMOS FAN PROMISE AND EXPECTATIONS

The New York Cosmos value the support of each and every one of our fans, so we promise to protect supporters’ rights to:

• Watch the match in a safe, comfortable, clean and healthy environment.
• Be treated with respect and dignity in a courteous and professional manner by other spectators at the game and organizers of the event.
• Cheer their team, provided that the support is in good taste and neither adversely impacts the game experience of fellow spectators nor negatively impacts the game itself.
• Expect displays of good sportsmanship between players, as well as timely and accurate information related to the game from the hosts.

The Cosmos are also committed to creating a safe, enjoyable and memorable soccer experience for all guests in and around our stadium.  Cosmos fans have the right to expect an environment where:

• Fans are encouraged to cheer, sing and support their team in a respectful and courteous manner to their fellow patrons, game officials and opposing team players.
• Fans enjoy the soccer experience free from fighting, thrown objects, attempts to enter the playing field and political or inciting messages.
• No disorderly behavior, including foul, sexist, racial, obscene or abusive language or gestures will ever be tolerated.
• Fans comply with requests from stadium public safety officers regarding stadium policies and emergency response procedures.
• Fans carefully return any ball that enters the stands to a guest services member or the ball kid on the sidelines.
• Fans conduct themselves in a lawful manner to avoid incidents in the stadium and surrounding areas.
• Alcoholic beverages are consumed in designated areas only in a responsible manner, and only by those of legal age.

Currently, the use of streamers and confetti as an expression of fan enthusiasm is not prohibited, but will be kept under review.

FAILURE TO ABIDE BY THIS CODE OF CONDUCT IS SUBJECT TO SANCTIONS, INCLUDING EJECTION, BANISHMENT AND ARREST. VIOLATORS MAY ALSO HAVE THEIR TICKET PRIVILEGES REVOKED.

The New York Cosmos would like to thank you in advance for complying with our aforementioned rules and we appreciate you making all Cosmos games a special event for you, your family, friends and fellow patrons.

BOX OFFICE, WILL CALL AND TICKET INFORMATION

Tickets to all Cosmos home games, including Season Tickets, Groups, Family Packages and individual tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 1-855-71-COSMOS (1-855-712-6766) during normal business hours (Mon - Fri, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) or by logging on to www.nycosmos.com at any time.

• The main Box Office located at Gate C will be open three (3) hours prior to the announced kickoff of that day’s game. The Gate F Box Office will open two (2) hours prior to the announced kickoff of that day’s game.

• On game days, Will Call and Flex Pack Ticket Redemption windows are located at the Gate C Box Office and open three (3) hours prior to the announced kickoff of that day’s game.  Flex Pack Tickets can also be redeemed at Gate F Box Office starting two (2) hours prior to announced kickoff of that day’s game.

• Discounted Student and Active/Reserved/Retired Military and First Responder tickets may be available for purchase at all ticket sales windows on game day. Students and Active Military must show proper identification to receive the discount. There is a limit of one (1) discounted ticket per ID. These discounts are not available for advance ticket sales. Prices are: $10 Supporter/Endline; $19 Sideline; $27 Center Circle; $80 Club Seats. Limited tickets are available at each price level per game.

• Children two (2) years old and under do not need a ticket to enter Shuart Stadium. They must be seated on a parent or guardian’s lap.
• Home Supporters Tickets are available for purchase at the Gate C Box Office, Window #1, and opens three (3) hours prior to the announced kickoff of that day’s game. 
• Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium Box Office is not open for Cosmos advance ticket sales on non-Cosmos game days.

PARKING

Stadium area parking is available for guests attending Cosmos games at Shuart Stadium.

Parking lots will open three (3) hours prior to the announced kickoff of that day’s game. Refer to the following parking lot designations (Green, Yellow, Blue, and ADA-Accessible) for more information.

GREEN (RESERVED PARKING)

Reserved Club Seat parking will be accommodated in the Green Lot located south of the stadium. A Cosmos-issued parking pass must be displayed to gain entry. Pre-paid parking books for the full season are available for season ticket holders for $128.

From the North/West:
• Take the Meadowbrook Parkway southbound to Exit M4 toward Hempstead and Coliseum via NYS Route 24 west
• Keep right at the fork and merge onto Charles Lindbergh Boulevard
• Turn left onto Earle Ovington Boulevard
• Cross over Hempstead Turnpike (NYS Route 24) and continue on Uniondale Avenue
• Follow “To Green Lots” below

From the South/East:
• Take the Meadowbrook Parkway northbound to Exit M4 toward Hempstead and Coliseum via NYS Route 24 West
• From Exit M4 you will be on Hempstead Turnpike (NYS Route 24) heading westbound
• Follow Hempstead Turnpike for about one mile
• Make a left turn onto Uniondale Avenue
• Follow “To Green Lots” below

To Green Lots:
• Make the fourth right onto Stadium Road/Gerald Street and follow signs to Green parking lots

YELLOW (RESERVED PARKING)

Reserved Suites and accredited Media parking will be accommodated in the Yellow Lots located west of the stadium. A Cosmos-issued parking pass must be displayed to gain entry.

From the South/East:

To Yellow Lots:
• From Hempstead Turnpike (NYS Route 24), make the first left turn after the pedestrian bridge onto California Avenue
• Look for signs for Yellow parking lots

BLUE (GENERAL PARKING)

General parking is available at $10.00 per car and $25.00 per bus on a first come first served basis in the Blue Lots, which are located north of Hempstead Turnpike adjacent to the “bubble” and are accessible via East Gate Road. When parking in the Blue Lots north of Hempstead Turnpike, guests are required to utilize the pedestrian bridge to cross Hempstead Turnpike en route to the stadium. Additional general parking is provided in the Blue Lot east of the stadium (the fee for these lots is $10).

From the North:
• Take the Meadowbrook Parkway southbound to Exit M4 toward Hempstead and Coliseum via NYS Route 24 west

From the South via Uniondale Avenue:
• Turn left onto Baldwin Court
• Look for signs for General Parking

From the East:
• Travel on NYS Route 24 westbound
• Turn right onto Earle Ovington Boulevard
• Turn left onto East Gate Boulevard
• Look for signs for General Parking

From the West:
• Travel on NYS Route 24 eastbound
• Turn right onto Uniondale Avenue
• Turn right onto Baldwin Court
• Look for signs for General Parking

ADA – ACCESSIBLE PARKING

ADA-accessible parking spaces are available for general parking patrons in a portion of the Blue Lot located directly east of the stadium. An official identifier will also be required to gain access to this area.
ADA-accessible parking spaces are also available in the Green and Yellow lots for those holding parking passes in those locations.

During the post-match exit scenario, traffic management personnel may require drivers to exit a lot in a particular direction to alleviate the traffic congestion on the adjacent roadway network.

LIRR SHUTTLE SERVICE

The New York Cosmos is pleased to offer its guests with a pre- and post-match shuttle service from and to the Mineola LIRR Station. Shuttle buses run between Mineola Station and Shuart Stadium beginning two (2) hours 30 minutes before the announced kickoff of that day’s game and for one (1) hour following the conclusion of the game.

Upon arriving in Mineola, proceed to the north side of the station and look for school buses signed “Cosmos Shuttle”. Following the game, proceed to the area in front of Hagedorn Hall (near the northeast corner of the stadium) to pick up the shuttle for the return trip. DROP-OFFS & PICKUPS

All guest drop-offs and pickups shall be made in front of Hagedorn Hall near the northeast corner of Shuart Stadium, accessed via the first driveway on Uniondale Avenue south of Hempstead Turnpike. Drivers must discharge passengers in a quickly and orderly fashion. Dwelling in the pick-up and drop-off area will not be permitted unless authorized by traffic management personnel.

TAILGATING

Tailgating is permitted at Hofstra University’s Stadium provided guests tailgate responsibly and in the same space occupied by their vehicle.  Please be courteous to your fellow fans – open parking spaces cannot be used for tailgating.

Please see below for other points to remember:

• One car per space.
• Kegs of beer, gas grills and open fires are not permitted.
• Please do not discard hot coals near vehicles or in plastic waste receptacles.
• Ball playing and Frisbee throwing in Hofstra parking lots and roadways are safety hazards and not permitted.

Trash receptacles are located throughout Hofstra University’s parking lots and near the Shuart Stadium entrances.  Please bag and dispose of your trash to make it safer for vehicles exiting the stadium after the game.

KEY LOCATIONS AT HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY’S SHUART STADIUM

SUITE TICKET HOLDER ENTRANCE:  The VIP Entrance for Suite ticket holders is located at Gate B at Shuart Stadium. Access through this entrance is restricted to Suite ticket holders ONLY. This gate opens 75 minutes before the announced kickoff of that day’s game.

CLUB SEAT HOLDER ENTRANCE:  Club Seat Holders MUST enter Shuart Stadium through Gate D located on the Southeast corner of the stadium. This gate opens 75 minutes before the announced kickoff of that day’s game.

HOME SUPPORTERS ENTRANCE:  All fans holding a Home Supporters Section Ticket (The Five Points) MUST enter Shuart Stadium through Gate A located on Meadowbrook Place on the West side of the stadium. This gate opens 75 minutes before the announced kickoff of that day’s game.

VISITING SUPPORTERS ENTRANCE: All visiting team supporters need to get in contact with Sofia Sanchez, the Director of Operations, in order to coordinate the timing of their entrance through Gate C which is located on the South side of the stadium. This gate is open 75 minutes before the announced kickoff of that day’s game.  Visiting team supporters can email Sofia at ssanchez@nycosmos.com to obtain a copy of the visiting team supporters’ guide in order to better ensure their experience at the stadium.

CONCESSIONS AND MERCHANDISE: There are two (2) Concession Stands located on the West side of the concourse. Various points of sale service carts are also located around the stadium.

Guests are permitted to bring food for individual consumption into Shuart Stadium as long as items are brought in a clear plastic grocery-style bag and are consumed in the general seating area. Outside food may not be brought into hospitality areas or suites. Food that could be used as a projectile (e.g., apples, oranges, etc.) should be sliced or sectioned. Clear factory-sealed plastic water bottles 1 liter in size or smaller are also permitted.

Cosmos merchandise will be sold on-site during Cosmos game days. The main retail location will be situated directly inside Gate C with kiosks in 2-3 other locations throughout the stadium.

RESTROOMS: There are four (4) restrooms: two (2) located on the West side and two (2) located on the East side of Shuart Stadium. All restrooms are designed for guests with disabilities. Portable toilets will also be located around the venue.

FIRST AID: For immediate assistance, please notify the nearest Hofstra University Public Safety Officer located throughout the Stadium. A First Aid station is also located in Margiotta Hall, Room 102.

LOST AND FOUND: During game days, Lost and Found will be located on the back side of the Gate C Ticket Booth on the plaza level. On non-game days, Lost and Found will be located in the Hofstra Information Center on the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and California Avenue.

SHUART STADIUM: There are no ATMs located on site at James M. Shuart Stadium.

ADMISSION POLICIES:

• Children two (2) years old and under do not need a ticket to enter Shuart Stadium. They must be seated on a parent or guardian’s lap.
• Gates will open 75 minutes prior to the announced kickoff of the game for General Admission. We strongly encourage guests to enter the stadium as early as possible to avoid delays.
• Suite and Club Seat Holder gates and hospitality areas will open 75 minutes prior to the announced kickoff of the game.
• All seating in the stadium is reserved for guests with valid tickets for that specific game.
• Exit and re-entry to the stadium is prohibited.
• All guests entering the stadium are subject to a search. Refusal may be grounds to prohibit admission.
• Merchandise may not be sold or re-sold on Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium property or areas adjacent to Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium.

PROHIBITED ITEMS:

• Bottles (glass), cans, coolers, containers
• Noisemakers – no plastic horns (vuvuzelas), air horns, whistles, drums*, musical instruments* fireworks, flares, smoke bombs or similar items
• Pets or animals of any kind (with the exception of service animals)
• Weapons of any sort
• Illegal substances
• Laser pointers
• Chains
• Aerosol Cans
• Clothing containing vulgar language and/or political messages
• Professional camera or video equipment including tripods
• Water guns, toy/replica weapons, squirt bottles, soap bubbles, etc.
• Beach balls, Frisbees, balloons, brooms, skateboards, roller blades, skates, etc.
• Flags on poles of any types*

*Select items may be permitted in the designated Home Supporters section in certain circumstances. All permitted items must be approved in advance by the New York Cosmos and Hofstra University Public Safety Officers. All fans wishing to bring in permitted items must have a ticket in a designated Supporters section and must enter through Gate A (designated Supporter’s gate).  For details or a complete list of approved items please contact the New York Cosmos at 1-877-71-COSMOS.

The Cosmos and Hofstra University reserve the right to disallow items not included on this list, that appear to create distractions or dangerous situations at point of entry or in the stands.

Prohibited items discovered during inspections at the stadium entrances must either be returned to owner’s vehicle or discarded. If not, items will be confiscated and not returned. The stadium will not provide a storage area for these items. Guests arriving by mass transit must take particular caution not to bring any prohibited items, as no exceptions will be made.

PERMITTED ITEMS:

• Umbrellas are allowed in Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium, but may not be opened while inside the stadium.
• Bringing bags into the stadium is strongly discouraged, however, small bags, backpacks, suitcases, briefcases, and beach bags smaller than 11" x 17" x 10" are permitted into Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium during Cosmos home matches. All bags will be inspected. If a guest refuses inspection of his/her bag of any type, he/she will not be permitted into the stadium. 
• Modest amount of food, one sealed bottle of water.
• Flags without poles are permitted. Flags must be game related and may not cover any stadium signage. All flags or banners deemed inappropriate by the Cosmos or stadium management are subject to removal.

WHEN IN YOUR SEATS:

• Proper behavior is expected from all of our guests. Foul/Abusive language and/or rowdy behavior will not be tolerated and will be cause for ejection and/or arrest. Violators may also have their ticket privileges revoked. Notify the nearest Public Safety Officers or Guest Services Member immediately if actions of this type occur near you.
• Retain your ticket stub at all times for Guest Services to verify proper seat locations. Adults should ensure that children are in possession of their own ticket. This will facilitate reuniting the child with parents should they become separated.
• Sit only in your assigned seat to avoid inconveniencing other guests. Children two (2) years old and under not holding a ticket for an assigned seat must be seated on a parent or guardian’s lap.
• Please keep all aisles clear at all times; emergency situations require that stairways be kept clear. Guests sitting or standing in the stadium aisles jeopardize the safety of others.
• Be prepared to show your ticket stub each time you enter your assigned seating section.
• No standing on seats will be tolerated.
• Entering the playing field without authorization or throwing objects is a violation of stadium rules and may prove hazardous. Offenders will be ejected and subject to arrest and prosecution. Violators may also have their season tickets revoked.
• Smoking is prohibited in Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium, which includes the seating sections, concourses and stairwells.
• Handheld radios and television are allowed as long as guests listen with an earpiece or headphones. Guests should be considerate of their neighbors when using these devices.

ALCOHOL POLICIES:

Select beer options are available for purchase in the Samuel Adams Beer Garden, located inside Myers Pavilion at the Southeast corner of Shuart Stadium. All guests entering the Beer Garden must be of legal age and show proper identification.  All beer must be consumed in the Beer Garden; it cannot be taken to the seating areas.  Suite and Club Seat ticket holders also have access to food and beverages, including alcohol, as a part of their ticket benefits. Alcoholic beverages should be consumed in a responsible manner, only by those of legal age and only in these designated areas.

The following is a list of alcohol policies instituted at the stadium:

• Guests will not be permitted to bring alcoholic beverages into the stadium.
• Guests will not be allowed to enter the stadium if they appear to be intoxicated.
• All guests must provide valid proof of age to drink in the Beer Garden and as included in one of the hospitality packages.
• Alcohol sale and distribution may be shut off at any time at management’s discretion.
• Drunk and disorderly behavior as well as violation of any alcohol policy will result in ejection from the stadium without refund and violators could be subject to arrest and prosecution. Violators may also have their ticket privileges revoked.
