Diomar Díaz is a 24-year-old, 5-foot-8 attacker from La Victoria, Venezuela, who came the Cosmos after spending the 2012-13 season with Mineros de Guayana of the Venezuelan First Division. Díaz began his career with Deportivo Petare before being transferred to Mineros last January.
Díaz signed with the New York Cosmos on May 2, 2013, and made his debut in the opening game of the 2013 NASL fall season against Fort Lauderdale, playing 80 minutes. Díaz scored his first goal for the Cosmos in a 2-1 victory over the San Antonio Scorpions on Oct. 26. In the Cosmos reboot season Diaz appeared in 13 games and scored five goals in 857 minutes of action.
