Julien Lacher joins the New York Cosmos as one of the club’s most promising young midfield talents, bringing professional experience from the MLS NEXT Pro environment and a strong developmental foundation rooted in high-level academy soccer.

Lacher progressed through competitive youth systems before earning opportunities with NYCFC II in MLS NEXT Pro, a league designed to bridge the gap between academy soccer and Major League Soccer. Competing in that environment exposed him to fast-paced, tactically structured matches against top emerging talent across North America. The league’s emphasis on technical execution, pressing intensity, and positional discipline accelerated his growth and professional readiness.

An attacking midfielder by profile, Lacher is comfortable operating between the lines, receiving under pressure, and linking midfield to attack. He possesses strong ball control, quick decision-making in tight spaces, and the vision to unlock defenses with progressive passing. His movement off the ball allows him to create space for teammates while also arriving late into scoring positions.
