DEFENDER

Jordan Chavez is a strong and reliable defender for the New York Cosmos, bringing experience, physical presence, and consistency to the backline. Known for his defensive awareness and ability to read the game, Chavez plays a key role in maintaining structure and stability.

A native of San Diego, California, Chavez developed his game with Albion SC before going on to play collegiately at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During his four-year career with the Rebels, he made 74 appearances and established himself as a dependable presence in defense.

Chavez began his professional career in his hometown with Chula Vista FC before signing with San Diego Loyal in the USL Championship, where he made his professional debut. He went on to make his mark with Central Valley Fuego FC, logging over 50 appearances across two seasons while contributing both defensively and offensively from the backline.

Following a stint with Orange County SC, Chavez joined Texoma FC in 2025, where he was named team captain ahead of the club’s inaugural season. His leadership and experience made him a key figure within the squad.

Now with the Cosmos, Chavez adds veteran leadership, composure, and defensive strength as the club builds toward a strong return to professional competition.
