The New York Cosmos sign goalkeeper Javier Garcia via transfer from AC Boise, adding one of USL League One’s most accomplished shot-stoppers to the first-team roster. Garcia arrives with extensive professional experience across both the USL Championship and USL League One, bringing leadership, composure, and a proven presence in goal.

A native of McAllen, Texas, Garcia began his professional career with Rio Grande Valley FC in the USL Championship before continuing his development with El Paso Locomotive FC across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In 2025, he joined Texoma FC ahead of its inaugural USL League One campaign and quickly emerged as one of the league’s standout goalkeepers.

Known for his elite shot-stopping ability, command of the penalty area, and calmness under pressure, Garcia established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the league during the 2025 season. He earned USL League One Player of the Month honors in May, received eight Save of the Week recognitions, and set league records for penalty saves, becoming the league’s all-time leader in penalty stops.

Garcia strengthens the Cosmos goalkeeping group with experience, consistency, and a competitive edge. His profile aligns with the club’s emphasis on discipline, professionalism, and building a strong foundation as the Cosmos continue their inaugural USL League One campaign.
