Donato Curci

Donato Curci is an accomplished Italian soccer professional currently serving as First Assistant Coach for the New York Cosmos in USL League One.
A native of Italy, Curci brings over two decades of international experience as both an elite player and a decorated coach to the Cosmos technical staff.
Curci joined the Cosmos in January 2026 after a successful tenure as Head Coach at the College of Staten Island (CSI), where he led the Dolphins to multiple East Coast Conference honors. His extensive coaching resume includes:
Curci served as an Assistant Coach at Foggia Calcio in Italy’s Lega Pro, working alongside renowned manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Won the 2014 NPSL Sunshine Conference title as an Assistant Coach and Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Miami United FC.
Held key leadership roles at Morris Elite Soccer Club (USL2 & USL Academy Head Coach) and the New York Red Bulls Youth Development Program.
Curci’s deep understanding of the game is rooted in his professional playing career in Italy, which began at age 15 with Foggia Calcio in Serie A. He later competed in the Italian lower leagues with clubs such as Campobasso Calcio and U.S. Frentar Larino Calcio.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and several prestigious coaching credentials, including a UEFA B License, a USSF B License, and a Juventus University soccer coach license.
Known for his motto, “Believe in yourself and nothing is impossible,” Curci is dedicated to creating a competitive culture that empowers players to reach their fullest potential on and off the field.
