The New York Cosmos will face off against Miami FC on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m at the Riccardo Silva Stadium. The two teams played last weekend at MCU Park, as the visitors took three points, earning their first ever victory over New York. Tomorrow night’s match will be Miami’s home opener, after being on the road their first two games.

The reigning champions have yet to pick up a victory and hoping to improve upon their previous result. Despite last week’s loss, goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer was named Emirates Man of the Match, and has a total of eight recorded saves and one clean sheet this season.

The Cosmos have averaged 52% possession in their opening two games, with a total of 11 shots, and 77.3% passing accuracy. Head Coach and Sporting Director, Giovanni Savarese has won three titles with the club, and looking to improve upon their previous two results.

Defensively, Darrius Barnes leads the back with seven clearances followed by Carlos Mendes and Ryan Richter who both have 5. The team will be missing defender, Jimmy Mulligan after picking up a second yellow card at the end of their previous match.

Miami FC had four players named to the NASL Team of the Week, after their 3-0 victory last weekend. Robert Baggio Kcira, Dylan Mares, Stéfano Pinho, and former Cosmos player Hunter Freeman, showed their strength last week, and will be key players for the Cosmos to manage this weekend. Mares and Pinto also combined for two of Miami’s three goals in their victory.

Miami is currently on top of the league standings with four points, and has recorded one clean sheet so far. Miami FC has an 83.7% passing accuracy, with 18 total shots, nine on target, and four goals altogether.

The Cosmos head into the match with a 3-0-1 (W-D-L) record against Miami, outscoring 10-5 and have not lost back-to-back games since April 23, 2016 after losing on the road to Indy Eleven and Minnesota United FC.

The match will be broadcasted on MSG Networks, ESPN3, and the CW South Florida.
