The teams will meet for the first time since the 2016 NASL Championship Final

The New York Cosmos will host Indy Eleven on Tuesday, July 4 at MCU Park in the first of two back-to-back home and away games in the matchup. The teams have yet to face each other since the 2016 NASL Championship Final in November of last year, when the Cosmos lifted the Soccer Bowl trophy after winning the post-game penalty shootout. Right back, Ryan Richter, netted in the spot kick that sealed the deal for New York, earning the Cosmos their second consecutive and eighth overall league title.

The Cosmos (4th, 5W-5D-3L) look to return to winning ways after a 2-1 loss on the road to league leaders, Miami FC. New York had some good takeaways from the face-off, including a third goal in six games for Emmanuel Ledesma and a second assist this season for Javi Márquez. The team continues to impress in the attack, tallying 19 goals and piling on 166 shots so far in the 2017 NASL Spring Season, good for second in the league in both categories.

Indy Eleven (6th, 2W-7D-4L) travel to Brooklyn after earning their first victories of the season in consecutive contests against North Carolina FC. A key strength for the Eleven is their veteran shot-stopper, Jon Busch. Busch is third in the NASL in saves with 35. Cosmos keeper, Jimmy Maurer, is second in this category with 39. Both played in the 2016 Championship Final.

Another figure from last year's Final that the Cosmos may be up against on Tuesday is defender, Nemanja Vuković. The Montenegrin often picks out players going forward, producing 61 crosses so far this season, the second-most in the NASL.

The Cosmos have a 1-6-2 (W-D-L) record against Indy Eleven in the regular season, scoring 10 goals to the opponent's 11. New York has never lost a home game in the matchup.

The action kicks off on Tuesday, July 4 at 7:30 pm at MCU Park in Brooklyn. Tickets are on sale now. For more information, click here.
