The New York Cosmos will host Jacksonville Armada FC in Brooklyn on Sunday, September 17 at 5:00 pm. The first of three back-to-back home games for the Cosmos will be a crucial rematch between the fifth and fourth-placed sides in the NASL Combined Standings.

The Cosmos will bring a lot of positive energy to the field after a high-scoring draw (3-3) against Spring Season Champion, Miami FC. Bledi Bardic marked his senior team lineup debut with a 10th minute game opener, sending in a Dejan Jaković header from point-blank range. New York then worked to even the score after a brace by Jaime Chávez put Miami ahead. The efforts of Javi Márquez did not go to waste – the Cosmos made their comeback in the 81st minute when Pablo Vranjicán flicked the ball in off the Spaniard's volley. Down a goal in the 90th minute, New York came back again in stoppage time through Márquez, who picked up a short pass from Ayoze for the Cosmos' third goal of the night.

Vranjicán, Márquez, and Ayoze all earned NASL Team of the Week honors.

With a 7-10-6 (W-D-L) record and 31 points in the combined standings, the Cosmos are intent on doing all they can to clinch a post-season playoff spot. New York is currently four points short of the second-placed San Francisco Deltas.

Jacksonville (8W-8D-7L, 32 points) is entering Sunday's game with the same goal in mind. The Armada haven't played since their September 3 road match against the Cosmos (W 0-2) due to Hurricane Irma. In the teams' last meeting, Mark Lowry's men shut out New York for the first time in the matchup since July 2015. The Cosmos drew twice against Jacksonville in the Spring Season. Both games ended 1-1, with Javi Márquez scoring for New York, and Zach Steinberger as well as J.C. Banks getting goals for the opposition.

The Cosmos have a 4-3-2 (W-D-L) record against the Armada, outscoring their opponent 15-10. New York is unbeaten in five of its last six home games this year. Jacksonville won two straight road games in the Fall Season, but has never won three in a row. The Cosmos have also been a powerhouse in the final stretch, scoring five goals in the last 15 minutes of games in the Fall Season, the most in the league.

Both teams will push for a spot in the NASL playoffs when they face off at MCU Park on Sunday, September 17 at 5:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now. For more information, click here.
