New York Cosmos defender, Dejan Jaković, was named Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match after a strong defensive game in the Cosmos’ 0-0 draw against FC Edmonton on Saturday night at MCU Park. 

In the 38th minute, FC Edmonton midfielder, Ben McKendry, played a ball into the box and nearly found a teammate to score, but Jaković was able to intercept and clear the ball away from goal. 

The defender was precise with the ball as he completed 56 of his 61 passes for a 93.3 percent accuracy rate, the highest rate of any player who started for either team. Jaković also won five of his six duels while recording three clearances and not conceding a foul. 

The Canadian previously earned the MOTM award on August 19 vs. Indy Eleven.
