The New York Cosmos announced today that goalkeeper, Jimmy Maurer, will continue his professional career with Major League Soccer’s FC Dallas this upcoming season.

Maurer, 29, has been a mainstay in the New York Cosmos lineup since the 2014 season. Over his six-year NASL career, beginning in 2011 with the Atlanta Silverbacks, Maurer posted a 55-35-32 record (W-D-L) in the regular season with a 1.24 goals against average. Currently, he is the modern NASL leader in goalkeeper wins, shutouts (45) and saves (367).

In postseason action, Maurer has been even better for New York. He has won five of his seven starts in the quest for the Soccer Bowl, winning the title twice and leading the Cosmos to The Championship Final three years in a row to end his time in New York.

In 2014, the keeper posted a modern day NASL record 372-minute shutout streak during the Spring Season and was named to the NASL Best XI that year.  Previously, Maurer was loaned to FC Dallas for one game this season on July 22.

The New York Cosmos thank Maurer for his tremendous contributions to the club over his time in New York, and wish him all the best as he takes the next step in his career in Dallas.
