The New York Cosmos announced today the addition of Naeem Charles.

The 24-year old can line up in multiple positions in the attacking half. He most recently played in Germany with DJK TuS Hordel, but is familiar with playing in the Tri-State area, having featured for LIU Brooklyn collegiately.

“He’s a local kid who we’ve known for a little while,” Cosmos coach Carlos Mendes said. “He brings us something different. He’s an attacking player - can play wide or up top – and he’s skillful with good pace.

“I think he’s going to fit into a nice role. He’s played with some of the guys on the team already, so the chemistry is there, and that’s important at this point of the season.”  

Charles will be available for the club’s contest against Brooklyn Italians on Wednesday, July 3, at 8 p.m.
