The New York Cosmos announced today the signing of midfielder Michael Kafari.

The 27-year old joins the club after spending the 2019 NPSL season with ASC San Diego. Kafari also previously featured in the North American Soccer League with Puerto Rico FC, where he made 32 appearances. He also spent time in Sweden with Motala, where he scored in the Svenska Cupen.

“We are excited and pleased to add Michael to the roster for the remainder of the season,” New York Cosmos coach Carlos Mendes said. “He’s a proven professional who will add depth to the midfield and brings a strong mentality to push our level.”

The club also announced the departure of Naeem Charles.
