The New York Cosmos announced today the signing of veteran midfielder Ozzie Ramos, adding experienced depth to the club’s midfield ahead of the stretch run of the 2026 USL League One season.
Ramos joins the Cosmos after several seasons competing in USL League One, where he established himself as a dependable central midfielder known for his work rate, leadership, and versatility. Comfortable playing in multiple central midfield roles, Ramos brings valuable professional experience and familiarity with the league to the Cosmos roster.
“We have a number of lingering injuries in our midfield and Ozzie brings veteran experience and leadership to the club,” said Head of Soccer Giuseppe Rossi. “He’s trained with us for a couple of weeks and has fit into the team nicely.”
Head Coach Davide Corti believes Ramos’ experience and character will make an immediate impact.
“Ozzie knows the league and can play a couple of central midfield positions for us,” Corti said. “I really like the way he plays and his character on and off the field.”
Ramos has spent his professional career competing in USL League One and other professional environments, earning a reputation as a disciplined midfielder capable of contributing on both sides of the ball. His ability to provide stability in possession and defensive cover gives the Cosmos additional flexibility as the club continues its inaugural USL League One campaign.
Ramos will be available for selection pending league and federation approval.
