MATCH REPORT
The Cosmos came out looking to build on their 4-2 road win over Fort Wayne, but Athletic Club Boise struck first in the 10th minute. Blake Bodily opened the scoring for the hosts to give Boise an early 1-0 advantage. The Cosmos looked for a response and continued to push forward, with Lamin Jawneh and Ajmeer Spengler among the threats in the attacking third. New York generated opportunities but was unable to find the equalizer before the break, sending Boise into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
The Cosmos increased the pressure in the second half as they searched for a way back into the match. New York finished the night with 15 total shots and 11 corners, but Boise goalkeeper Jonathan Kliewer helped keep the visitors off the board. Darren Sidoel entered for Ozzie Ramos in the 71st minute as the Cosmos continued to push numbers forward. Boise then doubled its advantage in the 81st minute when substitute Robinson Moshobane found the back of the net to make it 2-0. The Cosmos continued to fight and were finally rewarded deep into stoppage time. In the 94th minute, Sebastián Guenzatti scored to cut the deficit to 2-1, but there was not enough time to complete the comeback as the Cosmos fell 2-1 on the road.
