A first-touch blast in the box from Fury FC forward Paulo Junior put the Cosmos down a goal in the 31st minute at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium Tuesday night. But New York began the second half brightly, thanks in large part to midfielder Andrés Flores.

El Salvador's national team captain earned an equalizer two minutes into the second period, skying to connect with an Ayoze service in the box and heading home at the far post.

Unfortunately the Fury capitalized on a handful of counterattacking opportunities, and the match finished 4-1 in favor of the visitors. After the game Flores was presented as Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match, receiving the award for the first time this year.

Members of the media will cast their votes to determine the Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match at every Cosmos home game. At each home match, the winner will receive an Emirates Airbus A380 model airplane with an engraved plaque recognizing the player’s achievement.

The Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match award will culminate in a season-ending Emirates Cosmos Player of the Year award. The recipient of the Emirates Cosmos Player of the Year award will receive two round trip tickets on Emirates from New York (JFK) to Dubai (DXB) to celebrate a triumphant season.
